On 21 October 1865, the Queen visited The Coyles of Muick with her daughter Princess Helena. In her journal entry of that day, Queen Victoria describes how "It was very cold, but splendid seeing the hills all round covered with snow, with gleams of sunshine, & distant passing showers".
