A watercolour showing a view of Glen Tilit and Beinn A'Ghlo. The glen is shown in the foreground, with Beinn A'Ghlo shown behind. Inscribed below: Glen Tilt with Ben y Glo [sic] in the [illegible word] from the [?March] ( a short way from the Banock [)] - Sept: 27. 1865. While staying at Balmoral Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots, often sketching what she saw. On 27 September 1865 the Queen rode to the Fealar Shooting Lodge belonging to the Duke of Atholl. In her journal entry of that day, Queen Victoria describes how "The view of Glen Tilt with [Beinn A' Ghlo] rising above all was splendid. Sketched a little, & then went on our way".
