While staying at Balmoral, Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. On 14 September 1859, Queen Victoria visited Morven Hill with her daughter Princess Alice. They rode ponies to the top and the Queen describes the view, in her journal entry of that day, as "more magnificent than can be described...It was really enchanting". -
