Queen Victoria and Prince Albert stayed at White Lodge in Richmond Park from 16-17 May 1858. Queen Victoria describes in her journal entry of 17 May 1858 how she stayed behind at White Lodge for two hours after The Prince Consort had left for Buckingham Palace "drawing & talking to Mr Gibbs".
Albert Edward, Prince of Wales moved to White Lodge for the Spring and Summer of 1858 in the hope that the quiet and seclusion would help him to concentrate on his studies. -
