A watercolour showing a Guardsman standing in front of a sentry box. The guard is shown from behind, partially obscured by the sentry box. Hills are shown in the background, with a tree shown in the background to the left. Inscribed lower left: Aldershot. July 11. 1859. Queen Victoria and her family visited Aldershot Military Camp from 8 to 11 July 1859. While there the queen inspected barracks and hospitals and met with officers.
