On 10 August 1856, Queen Victoria sailed from Osborne House to Plymouth with her husband, Prince Albert and some of their children. On 11 August 1856, The Royal Family sailed up the River Dart to Dittisham for the day before mooring in Dartmouth Harbour overnight.
