A watercolour showing the daughter of a shepherd on the Osborne Estate. Anne Flemming is shown seated on a porch, holding a doll in her lap and facing left. She is wearing a blue apron over a patterned dress and a neckerchief. Inscribed below: Anne Flemming. Inscribed lower right: Osborne July - 18. 1849 In her journal entry of 18 July 1849, Queen Victoria describes how she "Sketched the little girl in the porch, at Barton".
