A pencil drawing showing Queen Victoria's eighth grandaughter, Princess Maud of Wales. She is shown full-length, standing and facing left in profile with her hands at her sides. She is wearing a late nineteenth-century style child's dress.

Princess Maud was the last daughter of Queen Victoria's first son, Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) and his wife Princess Alexandra of Denmark. She married Prince Carl of Denmark in 1896, who later became King Haakon VII of Norway making Princess Maud Queen of Norway. Princess Maud was given the childhood nickname 'Harry' because of her high-spirited nature. -
