Princess Alix was the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria's second daughter, Princess Alice, and her husband, Prince Louis of Hesse. She married Tsar Nicolas II in 1894, becoming the last Tsarina of Russia. She was assinated alongside her husband and five children in 1918 in the aftermath of the Bolshevik Revolution. -
