A watercolour showing the Scottish soprano Jane Shirreff as the character of Princess Elizabeth in Auber's Lestocq, ou L'intrigue et L'amour. She is shown full-length facing forward, with one arm held out to the side. She is dressed in theatrical eighteenth-century Russian costume.
Inscribed below: Miss Shirreff as the Princess Elizabeth /in her 1st dress/ as she appeared in the opera of Lestocq on the 21st Feb: 1835 at Covent Garden.
