A pencil drawing showing a view of the Menai strait looking towards Caernarfon from Plas Newyodd. A forest is shown on the back to the left. Inscribed below: View taken from the Emerald on approaching Carnarvon. [sic] VR del. 24th September 1832. Princess Victoria visited Wales in 1832 as part of a series of Royal Progresses organised by the mother, The Duchess of Kent, staying at Plas Newydd from 24 August to 15 October 1832. On 24 September 1832, Princess Victoria sailed down the Menai Strait on the Emerald Yacht to visit Caernarfon Castle.
