A pencil drawing showing the bust of Count Karoly. He is shown facing forward with curly hair and long side burns. Inscribed below: Count Karoly. P.V.f. Oct: 24th 1832 in the carriage. from recollection. Princess Victoria visited Chatsworth from 19 to 24 October 1832 as part of a series of Royal Progresses organised by her mother, The Duchess of Kent. On 24 October 1832, they left Chatsworth for Shugborough. In her journal entry of that day, Princess Victoria describes how "We have just left Chatsworth, but not without great regret; we had been so happy there. Lady Cavendish, Mrs. Arkwright, Mrs.Talbot, Count Karoly, and a good many others waving their handkerchiefs on the terrace".
