A pencil drawing showing Lady Constance Paget. She is shown thee-quarter-length, facing left in profile. She is wearing a nineteenth-century style dress, with her long hair down. A loose pencil study of a young girl is shown to the left. Inscribed below: Lady Constance Paget. P.V.f. Oct: 27th 1832 from recollection. Pitchford.
Princess Victoria stayed at Pitchford Hall from 27 October to 3 November 1832 as part of a series of Royal Progresses organised by her mother, The Duchess of Kent. On 26 October 1832, while staying at Shugborough, Princess Victoria visited Beaudesert, the seat of Henry Paget, 2nd Marquess of Anglesey. It was there that the young Princess met his daughters Lady Constance and Lady Elenor. In her journal entry of that day, Princess Victoria describes how, on leaving, she left remembrances for "the two little Pagets". -
