A pencil drawing showing the monumental basso Luigi Lablache as the character of Faliero and the Italian opera singer Giulia Grisi as the character of Elena in Donizetti's tragic opera Marino Faliero. They are shown full-length and embracing with Lablache to the left of Grisi. They are both dressed in theatrical costume.
Inscribed below: Signor Lablache as Marino Faliero and Mdlle G. Grisi as Elena in Marino Faliero. Commencement of 3d act. Faliero 'Addio Elena'.
Inscribed lower left: PV. d. K.P. July 18th 1835.
Princess Victoria saw Marino Faliero on 14 May 1835 (It's first performance in London) and again on 16 May 1835. -
