A white marble bas-relief carving of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother when Duchess of York, cradling the infant Princess Elizabeth of York (later HM Queen Elizabeth II), set within a yellow Siena marble surround.

Arthur Walker worked from a studio in Glebe Place in Chelsea, London. Much of his work was on public monuments and portraiture. In this work Walker replicates the low relief or rilievo schiaccato technique revived by Florentine artists during the Renaissance and the composition is reminiscent in particular of Donatello's Pazzi Madonna (now in the Staatliche Museen in Berlin) and Madonna of the Clouds (now in the Museum of Fine Art in Boston). The relief was exhibitied at the Royal Academy in 1928.
