A didgeridoo (a natural wooden trumpet or drone pipe) made of eucalyptus wood of Aboriginal origin. Eucalyptus wood is traditionally used in Aboriginal communities for making shields, dishes and canoes as well as musical instruments. Didgeridoos are formed from hollowed branches of the tree. Other parts of the tree - such as the leaves and gum - have played a central role in indigenous Australian medicines.
Traditionally, didgeridoos are played only by men.Provenance
