A pen and ink drawing of Charles Alexander Emanuel of Lorraine, Stadtholder of the Austrian Netherlands. Bust length in profile left with tied wig, frilled tie, and jacket. Within a circular border bearing French inscription, with further verses and 'Fait à la plume à Anvers 1753', inscribed below.
The drawing is comprised of a single line spiralling in concentric lines to create the image, in the style favoured by Claude Mellan. -
