In 1901 the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York (later King George V and Queen Mary) spent almost eight months on an extensive tour of the British Empire, visiting countries including Malta, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa via Mauritius (where this drawing was produced) and finally Canada. They travelled with their suite aboard HMS Ophir. -
