A pen and ink drawing showing a scene from Shakespeare's Hamlet (Act III, scene ii). This is one of a series of drawings by Chevalier illustrating theatrical subjects mounted into an album owned by Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh. Many of these probably show Shakespeare plays attended by the duke in Sydney in 1869.
