A white porcelain statue of a male figure kneeling with a young boy, both in Cree Native American dress, on a wooden base with an inscription plaque. The design for the sculpture was created and copyrighted by Helen Granger-Young in 1962, and produced commercially by Cybis from 1971, first in white porcelain and then in colour.
Provenance
Presented to Queen Elizabeth II by the Premier of Manitoba, Edward Schreyer, to mark the province's Centennial Year, July 1970. Schreyer is said to have displayed the statue in his office prior to presentation.
