An etching of a haloed man seated crosslegged beneath a tree, his arms outstretched to his knees; figures with lanterns beyond. Signed and dated at lower left (1922/3?). 

Lumsden made several trips to India, visiting Jodhpur, Kashmir and Ladakh and Varanasi, taking inspiration from his travels. Lumsden's 1922 etching The Buddha (London, British Musuem, inv. no. 1949,0411.639) contains many similar motifs to the present print, created for Queen Mary's Dolls' House.
