A watercolour of a young woman crying over the body of a man whose upper body she supports in her lap . Inscribed on the mount as by Lady Waterford, the price 10s. The subject is described by the artist. Arched top.
A wrapper, probably enclosing the watercolour when it was presented, is inserted between the folios. The wrapper is edged with a black border and bears an inscription in German: For my dearest Grandmother...
This drawing is housed in an album compiled by Queen Victoria (or probably Queen Victoria's mother, Victoria Duchess of Kent). For other items in this volume see Queen Victoria Album 4. -
