A watercolour sketch of the Golden Jubilee banquet held in the Ball Supper Room at Buckingham Palace. The dinner takes place at a large horseshoe-shaped table. Queen Victoria sits with King of Denmark on her right hand and Leopold II, King of the Belgians, on her left. The watercolour is signed, and with monogram, and dated: JUNE 21st 1887 / R T PRITCHETT.
Provenance
Commissioned with eight other sketches of scenes during the Golden Jubilee celebrations. Pritchett was paid £156 9 s for the nine sketches on 1 November 1887.
