A watercolour of Queen Victoria's bedroom in Schloss Rosenau, Coburg.The wallpaper of the room painted to represent trellis-work with flowers, a bonnet left beside the bed. The sheet has been signed in the lower left 'Rothbart'.
In 1845 Queen Victoria and Prince Albert traveled to Rosenau. In her journal entry for 20th August 1845, the Queen wrote how happy she was to visit 'Albert’s birthplace & favourite home... Albert is so, so happy to be here with me, – it is like a beautiful dream.’ They visited again in 1860, and the Queen then returned on a number of occasions following Albert's death in 1861. -
