A watercolour drawing of a seascape; several large vessels in a bay, calm sea; a group of houses on the shore, hills beyond.
One of a group of drawings by Col. Manningham described as 'received from His Majesty Aug. 23rd 1798', see RCIN 917063. Colonel Coote Manningham was an amateur artist who probably received instruction from William Payne. Manningham served as Adjutant General in the French attack on Santo Domingo (present day Dominican Republic and Haiti) in 1795. A pair to RCIN 970389.Provenance
