A watercolour depicting an interior view of the Queen's drawing-room on the Royal Yacht Victoria and Albert II. Signed with initials in monogram at bottom right, and signed and dated at bottom left.
Queen Victoria's second royal yacht was launched in 1855. Its interiors were largely designed by Prince Albert, and the Queen commissioned a sequence of watercolours depicting the yacht's various rooms from Penley after the Prince's death. The furniture in this room was of maplewood. Against the wall to left is a piano by Erard. Black-edged writing paper lies on the table in the foreground.Provenance
