-
A watercolour depicting an interior view of the corridor and staircase of the Royal Yacht Victoria and Albert II. Signed with initials in monogram at bottom right, and signed and dated at bottom left.
Queen Victoria's second royal yacht was launched in 1855. Its interiors were largely designed by Prince Albert, and the Queen commissioned a sequence of watercolours depicting the yacht's various rooms from Penley after the Prince's death. This watercolour depicts the corridor and staircase. The royal apartments lay aft and were entered by the double swing doors, seen in the foreground, leading from the quarters of the suite and offices.Provenance
