Sir Thomas Sabine Pasley (1804-83)
Milford Haven seen from the harbour c.1849-54
-
A watercolour showing many boats in the harbour. The Queen's yacht anchored off the Pembrokeshire coast on her visit on 14 August 1847. The artist, a keen amateur watercolourist, probably painted this while living at Pembroke, 1849-54.
Provenance
From Queen Victoria's Souvenir Album, volume IV, folio 28, where attributed to TS Pasley and inscribed on the mount of the original album as having been drawn from the exact place at which the Queen's yacht anchored, off the Pembrokeshire coast, on her visit on 14 August 1847. Perhaps presented to the Queen for her album through a mutual friend.
