Charlotte Canning, Viscountess Canning (1817-61)
Milford Haven drawn 26 August 1852
-
A watercolour of boats at sea, encircled by distant hills, at sunset. The Royal Yacht anchored off Milford Haven on 14 August 1847, on the way to Scotland. The artist visited Milford Haven on 26 August 1852 when she seems to have made a sketch, which is at Harewood House, with different ships but otherwise similar. She would then have executed this watercolour for the Queen. Signed 'C C'. Dated in a later hand '14 August 1847'.
