A watercolour of Buckingham Palace from beyond the lake in St James's Park. This work shows the east front of the palace before the east wing was added under Queen Victoria. The marble arch (now sited at the end of Park Lane) was designed by John Nash as a triumphal entrance to the palace, which was significantly remodelled under George IV between 1820 and 1830.
