A watercolour showing the house, with portico, to the right, with a guard on duty on the path curving from the left foreground up to the house. The Queen used Claremont, near Esher in Surrey, as a country retreat, but made much less use of it after Osborne House was acquired in 1845.
Provenance
From Queen Victoria's Souvenir Album, volume I, folio 35. In 1843 the artist was paid £19 and 14 gns for two views of Claremont and two views near Claremont respectively.
