Looking up Loch Goil from Loch Long c. 1847

A watercolour showing a highlander seated with his dog in the foreground. Mountains surround the loch in the middle distance. Queen Victoria considered the view towards Loch Goil to be the finest point on Loch Long. This and RCIN 919675, 919677, 919678, 919679 and perhaps 919672 illustrate the visit of the Queen and Prince Albert to the West Coast of Scotland in August 1847.
