A drawing of George IV seated on a throne and the Duke of Wellington standing before him with upraised sword. A woman, probably George's mistress Lady Conyngham, peeps through curtains behind the throne. The figure of Wellington has significant pentimenti - his arms are sketched in a number of positions. On the verso, the main lines are reinforced in brush and ink. A preparatory drawing for 'The t---ne in danger' published by Thomas McLean in February 1828, which was etched by William Heath.
