An engraving of this view titled 'A View from Constitution Hill Anno 1735', by a 'J.H' [sic] and engraved by Edmund Scott was published by Richard Godfrey on 1 June 1779. The drawing was published as part of Grose's Antiquarian Repository, 1808, vol. II, p.181 and attributed to 'the late ingenious Mr Hackell'. 

Augustin Heckel was a painter, jeweller and engraver from Augsburg, who came to England as a young man. He was among a number of foreign artists attracted to the thriving community around the St Martin's Lane Academy, a group that also included George Michael Moser and Henri-Francois Gravelot. Other works by Heckel are in the V&A, Fitzwilliam Museum, and British Museum.
