A pen and watercolour drawing of St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle: the west end, from the Horseshoe Cloisters. Signed: Schnebbelie delt 1786.
The drawing is apparently based on a print by W. Watts after Paul Sandby, published by Kearsly on 1 December 1777. Schnebbelie specialised in drawings of buildings of antiquarian interest and was draughtsman to the Society of Antiquaries. His son Robert was also a topographical draughtsman.Provenance
Purchased 30 March 1878 from Mr Hogarth [J. Hogarth & Sons], (Royal Library, List of books received and their donors, 1870-1878, RCIN 1028940.a, March 1878), '1 West End of St Georges Chapel by Schnebbelie'
