A drawing of a hunting incident. Two women are frightened by a hare which runs between their legs, and which is pursued by Charles II. The drawing is traditionally entitled 'King Charles II hunting with the Duchess of Portsmouth'.
Provenance
Presumably the 'drawing King Charles with the Duchess of Portsmouth Hunting' purchased by the Prince Regent from Colnaghi on 26 April 1813 for £1 11s 6d. Royal Archives Invoice 27842.
