Charles John Mayle Whichelo usually signed his works as John Whichelo. He was a British marine and topographical artist. This drawing is one of several works by Whichelo that were engraved and published in the Londina Illustrata (1808-23). The drawing was engraved by Bartholomew Howlett and published in Volume II, no. 178.
