A pen and watercolour drawing of a Gothic Hall. Signed and dated: J.R. R.A. 1794.
The landscape and scene painter John Inigo Richards was a founding member of the Royal Academy in 1768. Richards studied under George Lambert and accompanied him on sketching tours of Kent. Richards made further sketching tours of his own, recording country estates and picturesque buildings, providing an example to artists like Paul Sandby.Provenance
