A watercolour drawing of Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight. Inscribed on the verso: Drawings by Col. Manningham received from His Majesty Aug. 23rd 1798.
Colonel Coote Manningham was an amateur artist who probably received instruction from William Payne. Manningham served as Adjutant General in the French attack on Santo Domingo (present day Dominican Republic and Haiti) in 1795.Provenance
