From 1774 Paul Sandby lived opposite Hyde Park at 4 St George's Row, Bayswater and made many drawings of the park, including a series of the encampments after the Gordon Riots in 1780. This drawing of the parkland and landscape was bought at Sandby's estate sale with a drawing of the Cheesecake House in Hyde Park (RCIN 914693).
