A pencil drawing of trees and woodland, with two figures in the foreground on the left, one carrying a kite. Inscribed in pencil below, 'near the Gt Lodge Windsor Gt Park'. The same pencil hand appears on several drawings by the Sandby brothers in the Royal Collection (for example, RCINs 914630, 914523). On the back of the sheet is written in pen and brown ink: Recd the 23d of June 1787 of Mr Sandby the Sum of of [sic] Two Pounds Twelve Shilings and Six Pence for one Quarters Wadges Due 21th of June by me Francis Cart [trimmed] £2:12:6: The receipt was probably reused by the artist as drawing paper. Thomas Sandby was Deputy Ranger of Windsor Great Park from 1746 until his death.
