The North Terrace, Windsor Castle, looking East
Pencil, pen and watercolour | 13.6 x 20.3 cm (sheet of paper) | RCIN 914532
-
A watercolour drawing of the North Terrace of Windsor Castle. Three groups of figures are strolling on the terrace. A row of trees to the right and trees below the terrace wall on the left. Birds are in the sky and smoke is coming from a chimney on the right. With an ink and green wash border, a mount associated with works known to have been acquired at the Paul Sandby estate sale of 1811, then on a later brown mount inscribed in brown ink. Another version of the same view is RCIN 914530, probably another copy after Paul Sandby.
