A pen and ink and watercolour drawing of five male figures seated around a booth. A man walking away on the left. Inscribed below on the modern mount, probably copied from an earlier one 'A street coffee house Edinburgh'. Mounted together with RCINs 914502-10. During his period working for the Military Survey of Scotland 1747-52, Sandby made many observational drawings of street scenes around Edinburgh.
