A pencil and watercolour drawing of a female figure in a black gown, dress and bonnet, seated at a table with a green cloth. Inscribed below on the modern mount, probably copied from an earlier one, 'Mrs Gandon, wife of the architect'. James Gandon (1742-1823), an architect from Dublin, was an intimate friend of Paul Sandby. A possible drawing of James Gandon is RCIN 914397.
