A pencil and watercolour drawing of two mares with their foals in a paddock. A landscape background with a distant village and church. In a wash-line mount of a type associated with George III, but possibly added to the watercolour in the early twentieth century. The mare and foal appear in a watercolour of Windsor Castle from the south east in the collection of the Duke of Buccleuch at Drumlanrig.
