A pen and ink and watercolour drawing of Queen Charlotte seated, full-length, with the Princess Royal asleep on her knee, gesturing with her finger to the viewer to keep quiet. The Duchess of Ancaster is on the left.
The drawing is a 19th century copy after a pastel by Cotes of the Queen and Princess Royal in the Royal Collection (RCIN 452805). A drawing by Cotes, of the same subject, is in the British Museum (1885,0509.1629). The pastel was also engraved in 1770. -
