George IV as a boy in Garter robes c. 1774
-
A pencil, pen and ink and wash drawing of a portrait of George IV as a boy, wearing Garter robes. Squared and incised in places.
The drawing is probably an engravers' drawing, possibly by J. Saunders after Richard Brompton, as preparation for a mezzotint published in 1774 (O'Donoghue, vol. II, p.310, no.6; C.S. no. 5). An example of the print is RCIN 605091. -
