A black and red chalk drawing of Anne, Princess Royal (1709–59), sketching at a table. Signed with the initals TW.
The drawing is a copy by Worlidge after a painting by Philippe Mercier (1689–1760) of Frederick, Prince of Wales playing the cello with his three elder sisters, dated 1733. There are three versions of the painting (Royal Collection RCIN 402414, National Trust and National Portrait Gallery). A copy of one of the other figures, Frederick, Prince of Wales, is RCIN 913874. -
