A watercolour of a military figure, which may be intended as a caricature of a French general. A full length portrait of a small man who wears a plumed tricorn hat. He stands with his left hand on his hip and the other hand on top of a sword. An even larger sabre hangs at his back. His head is cocked to the side and he wears an expression of irritated arrogance. A cannon stands in the background.
