A black and red chalk drawing with grey wash, showing a portrait of Robert Plumer Ward.
Plumer Ward was an English barrister, politician and novelist. No known painting of him by Lawrence is known, but based on the apparent age of the sitter this portrait must have been made around 1800-10. Plumer Ward was elected to Parliament in 1802.Provenance
